  1. Hello,
I was ended up at this site after watching old footage of Vietnam via Youtube and also reading external sources about the Men and Women who served.
I was watching this video on Youtube tonight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1HGAa61yN4 and though at Face value and not knowing the real source, sure it made me question the possibilities. But more than the Video as i was scrolling comments, i came across this comment….”

    Drill Sergeant

Some U.S. POWs in were used to clear land mines, bouncing Bettys and unexploded general purpose bombs in Laos, believe it or not. The Pathet Lao hated Americans so much that their lives didn’t matter. If you were a POW and you acted up, then you were executed quickly like Captain Walter Moon, the Green Beret. He was captured around 1961 or 62 along with Sgt. Ballanger. Ballenger was released a year or so later. He made it home. Captain Moon is still there.”

After a little searching, it is said that Sgt Ballanger recalls hearing multiple rifle shots from the cavernous area Capt Moon was held in and then it is said he witnessed them shorty after, carrying Capt Moons bloody body away.

My real question is this. Am i searching down the wrong avenue? Because i cannot find anything solid on this story, with the exception of a few writings on Memorials sites posted by GOD only knows. Why are there no interviews, videos or substantial accounts By Sgt Ballanger? Why Nothing from Family of Capt Moon or SFC John M. Bischoff (the medic), Sgt. Gerald M. Biber (the radio operator) Family?

This is all i find https://www.pownetwork.org/bios/b/b162.htm

Something just seems off, there are multiple reasons this story should have life breathed into it, yet it seems as if it’s simply just another day in Vietnam. I will share my reason why if someone might simply share with me, if it’s just my search skills failing.
Seems like a dead-end. I want to know more about these Men, these dedicated Americans.
